Prime HMWPE 1000—the letters stand for high molecular weight polyethylene—is an advanced material known for its exceptional properties in demanding applications, such as hybrid/EV battery safe totes. This material is chosen for its outstanding durability and resistance to environmental stresses, making it ideal for manufacturing heavy-duty automotive components. Its key characteristics include:

  • Impact Strength – Very high, enabling it to withstand severe impacts without cracking or breaking.
  • Low-Temperature Impact Strength – Also very high, maintaining performance even under extremely cold conditions.
  • Tensile Strength – High, which means it can endure significant stretching forces.
  • Flexural Modulus – Average, indicating a moderate level of stiffness which aids in maintaining shape under stress.
  • Heat Deflection Temperature – Average, demonstrating a moderate ability to resist deformation under heat.

These properties make Prime HMWPE 1000 an excellent choice for hybrid/EV battery protection materials, providing reliability and safety in the handling and transportation of sensitive automotive batteries.
